Beni Ouarain "Twin Triangles"

Four signs, and nothing else. Near each corner of the ivory field sits a triangle outlined in black with a crimson centre, hanging from a pair of fine lines like a kite on its strings. The two pairs mirror each other across the length of the rug and leave the whole middle empty.

At 315 × 200 cm the rug works where furniture will cover part of it: the signs stay visible at the ends while a coffee table stands on plain ivory. The photographs on the wall and on the terrace show the motifs from both directions.
