Beni Ouarain "Ink Diamonds"

Thin black lines draw three columns of diamonds down the middle of an ivory rug, each diamond nested inside zigzags that open towards the edges. Most of the surface is left bare, so the drawing reads as a light sketch rather than a grid. Seen flat on the terrace the lines almost disappear into the pile; hung up, they stand out.

Its size is 310 × 210 cm. That covers the floor in front of a three-seat sofa with room to spare at both ends, and it suits a bedroom where the rug should show on either side of the bed.
