Beni Mrirt "Centered Field"

A wide ivory field holds one block of colour: a brown rectangle with softened corners, shaded from walnut to camel as the pile catches the light. A narrow charcoal band runs around the whole rug and closes the composition like a drawn frame. The short ends finish in a pale fringe.

At 406 × 321 cm this is a rug for a large room. It carries a full seating group with every leg on the pile, or lies under a dining table for ten with the chairs pulled out. The close-up photographs show the depth of the pile and how cleanly the brown meets the ivory.
