Beni Mrirt "Forest Lines"

Bands of teal, petrol blue and moss green lie across this rug like layers of water, their edges blurred into each other. Short cream dashes stand in the bands at regular distances, some single, some stacked, and give the colour a rhythm. A cream fringe finishes both short ends and the corners are braided.

The rug measures 312 × 260 cm. Its depth of colour makes it the centre of a room: it asks for plain upholstery and wood around it. The close-ups show how much the greens and blues shift within a single band.
