Boujaad rugs originate from the Boujaad region in the Haouz Plains of Morocco. Unlike the minimal Beni Ourain, Boujaad rugs are explosions of colour — pinks, reds, oranges, purples — with free-form abstract motifs. Each weaver improvises her own composition. They are among the most expressive and art-forward of all Berber rugs.

Traditional Boujaad colours come from natural plant and mineral dyes — saffron, pomegranate, indigo, henna. Some modern pieces use commercial dyes for brighter tones. Every ARINID piece documents the dye source on its Certificate of Origin.

Naturally dyed wool mellows beautifully with age — colours deepen and harmonise. This is considered a feature, not a defect. Avoid direct sustained sunlight and rotate every 6 months. The rug grows more beautiful over decades.
