Second: rooms with king beds (76×80 inches) where the rug needs to sit at the foot with comfortable border on either side. A 7×10 extends roughly 24 inches past each side of a standard king and roughly 36 inches past the foot — slightly more than 6×9 provides, slightly less than 8×10. For some king-bed rooms this proportion reads better than either neighbouring size.
