Beni Ouarain "Open Crossings"

A few long charcoal lines cross a warm cream field to form open diamonds and wide X shapes, with a single small square placed near the centre. The drawing is so sparse that the rug reads mostly as soft undyed wool, with the lines acting like a quiet architectural sketch.

Measuring 310 × 206 cm, this Beni Ouarain rug was hand-knotted in the Middle Atlas of Morocco from natural sheep's wool with a thick, comfortable pile.
