Azilal "Garden Columns"

Five upright columns of stacked diamonds and feathered chevrons rise across a warm cream ground, each worked in a different run of colour: rose, saffron, cobalt, emerald and tangerine. Near the base the order dissolves into a scatter of small signs, as if the weaver loosened her hand in the final rows.

This 300 × 215 cm rug was hand-knotted in the Azilal valleys of Morocco's Atlas Mountains using thick local wool. The columns give the composition a calm structure despite its colour, so it holds its own in a bright living room, a family dining area or a generous bedroom. Free international delivery.
