Beni Mrirt
You don’t buy a Beni Mrirt. You bring home a lifetime.
Hand-knotted by a single Amazigh artisan in the Middle Atlas. Virgin wool. 3–6 months. No two will ever exist.
Provenance
The rug that outlives everything.
In Khenifra Province, deep in Morocco’s Middle Atlas, Amazigh women weave as their grandmothers did, on floor looms, with hand-spun virgin wool drawn from Atlas Mountain sheep. Each rug takes between three and six months. Over 400,000 individual knots. One pair of hands.
A Beni Mrirt is not manufactured. It is raised, slowly, deliberately, with the same patience one gives to a garden or a child. The wool is washed in mountain streams, carded by hand, spun on a drop spindle, and dyed with plants that grow wild in the foothills. The geometry that emerges is never planned; it is remembered, drawn from a visual language that is centuries old and entirely personal to each weaver.
No catalogue number. No factory. No repetition. When a rug is finished, it is finished forever.

I asked for extra photos before ordering and the team sent me a video of the actual rug in natural light. Honestly it looks even better in our living room than it did on screen. The ivory tones have this warmth to them that photos just don't pick up.

Took 11 days door to door. Came rolled in thick linen with a handwritten note and the origin certificate. My designer was genuinely surprised by the pile density. She said she's sourced similar pieces for clients at twice this price. Already looking at a runner for our hallway.

Third rug I've bought from ARINID. First one was for our bedroom, then the den, now my office. Each one is completely different but they all have this quality where you walk in the room and your eye goes straight to it. Can't say that about much else in our house.

Questions
Before you decide.
Beni Mrirt rugs are distinguished by their exceptionally thick, dense pile and soft texture. Unlike flat-weave kilims or the typically thinner Beni Ourain, Beni Mrirt rugs offer a plush, cushion-like feel. They originate from Khenifra Province in the Middle Atlas and feature bolder, more abstract geometry.
Most orders arrive within 10–14 business days. Shipping is free and all customs duties, taxes, and import fees are included in the listed price. Zero surprises at your door.
We offer a 14-day living trial. If the rug doesn’t feel right in your space, return it with a prepaid shipping label for a full refund. No questions asked.
Every rug ships with a Certificate of Origin documenting the weaver’s name, village, and materials used. 100% virgin Atlas wool, hand-carded and naturally dyed. Each piece is photographed before it leaves Morocco.
We carry rugs from 5’×7’ accent pieces to 10’×14’ room-scale formats. Our concierge team can guide you, simply send your room dimensions via WhatsApp or email.
Vacuum regularly without the beater bar, blot spills immediately, and rotate every 6 months. Virgin wool is naturally stain-resistant and antimicrobial. A detailed care guide ships with every order.
